My tip for the day is to definitely bring an umbrella when coming to Costa Rica.  During the rainy season which is about between April-November it rains a lot. The last thing you need is to get soaked and the funny thing is, in small towns such as in the beautiful city of Arenal, you don’t see people carrying umbrellas. They simply don’t leave the house when it rains or they walk in the rain if they absolutely have to.
